The XT line remains one of our favorites from Tannoy. They have a lithe sound with a lot of presence that greatly belies the price point. These speakers sold themselves at every demo, and we demoed them a lot.

The Tannoy Revolution XT 6F-GB is a floorstanding loudspeaker built around the company’s Dual Concentric driver architecture and finished in high-gloss black. It is designed to deliver coherent, time-aligned sound for two-channel listening or home theater use, while maintaining a compact footprint suitable for residential spaces.

At its core is a 6" Dual Concentric driver rated for 300 W handling. In this configuration, the high-frequency unit is positioned at the acoustic center of the low-frequency cone, creating a point-source presentation. The benefit is improved imaging precision and more consistent tonal balance across the listening area. Because the high and low frequencies originate from the same physical location, phase relationships remain tightly controlled, which helps voices and instruments lock into place within the soundstage.

Tannoy’s Omnimagnet configuration allows the high-frequency unit to sit closer to the low-frequency driver’s acoustic center. This improves time alignment between the two sections of the driver, reducing smear and preserving transient detail. The result is clearer attack on percussion, more stable vocal placement, and better integration between bass and treble.

The Dual Concentric platform is widely used in professional studio monitoring, where consistent dispersion and tonal accuracy are critical. By applying that same constant-directivity approach to a home loudspeaker, the XT 6F-GB aims to deliver controlled, even sound dispersion throughout the room rather than concentrating performance in a narrow sweet spot. This makes placement more flexible and helps maintain tonal balance at different seating positions.

With its 6" driver configuration and substantial power handling, the XT 6F-GB is capable of strong dynamic contrast and wide frequency coverage for its size. It is suited to stereo music systems and can integrate into multi-channel home cinema environments where clarity, coherence, and consistent imaging are priorities.
