Open items have been previously unboxed. They may have been stars in one of our videos, or we may have needed to borrow a remote, run an update, or answer a very specific customer question. Open items could also be units that were returned within our trial period. Customer returns are always unboxed, fully tested, and checked carefully for cosmetic issues. Open items carry a full manufacturer's warranty unless otherwise noted.
Sometimes, products come to us from the manufacturer with minor blemishes. These are different from open stock in that they are brand new and carry the same warranty as new unless otherwise specified. We also include here scuffed demo pieces and customer returns. Our standards are extremely high, and most customers are pleasantly surprised at how small and unnoticeable the blemishes are when the products are set up in their rooms.
These are the units customers see and touch and listen to when they visit the store, so we keep these in mint condition, and refresh these a regular intervals. Demo items carry a full manufacturer's warranty unless otherwise noted.
These are called “disco” products because it’s time to do a happy dance for getting a factory sealed product at a steep discount. Don’t assume that “disco” automatically means outdated or obsolete. Manufacturers make new models for a host of reasons, including rising material costs, changing markets, or simply from a desire to hold customer attention, and the outgoing model is sometimes more desirable than the new one, especially at its lower price.
