T+A Elektroakustik G 2000 R CMC Turntable

A heavily damped belt drive turntable with Clearaudio tonearm option.

T+A focused on minimizing all external mechanical and electrical influences for the development of its turntables. From designing a smooth and consistent drive motor to the creation of totally damped system, the result is superb sound: absolutely transparent, extremely dynamic, and forceful.

T+A strongly recommends installing the T+A PHE-G R MC phono pre-amplifier module in the turntable chassis itself, keeping it as close as possible to the tiny signal from the cartridge. The optional tonearm is by Clearaudio and is equipped with an extraordinary MC cartridge.

Silent Motor Running

The G 2000 R CMC turntable uses a high-quality synchronous motor, whose accurately machined belt pulley drives the disc platter by means of a special ground rubber belt. Smooth and consistent by itself, T+A enhanced the motor with the ingenious use of DSP to fine-tune the curve of the motor coil voltage. This DSP motor reduces wow and flutter to negligible levels and keeps the performance isolated from fluctuations in mains frequency and voltage.

Solid Damped Chassis

The G 2000 R is housed in a case made of solid MDF, which has excellent damping characteristics; all the sub-assemblies are located in this component. Four shock absorbers separate this casing from the external aluminum sandwich construction. The heavy pressure-cast platter is mounted on an inner zinc platter for isolation. The heavy disc mat is made of soft silicone rubber.

The zinc platter undergoes a further precision machining process after the platter shaft has been press-fitted to ensure perfect true. The plain brass bush and hardened, polished steel shaft are made to a tolerance of 5 μm.
