Sonus faber Sonetto II G2 Bookshelf Loudspeaker
2-way bookshelf speaker with 1.1” tweeter, 6.5” midwoofer, and 87 dB sensitivity
The second generation of Sonus faber’s Sonetto Collection brings technologies developed for the company’s higher-end loudspeakers into a more accessible range. Made in Italy, Sonetto G2 combines the company’s signature lute-shaped cabinets and natural materials with purpose-designed drivers, new crossover technology, and improved cabinet construction. The collection also incorporates technologies such as organic driver baskets, optimized reflex loading, and concrete bases to improve resonance control and mechanical stability.
Sonetto II is the larger of the two bookshelf models in the Sonetto G2 Collection. Its 2-way design combines a 1.1” DAD silk-dome tweeter with a 6.5” midwoofer in a front-vented enclosure. Intono technology works with the reflex system to control unwanted internal energy, while the larger midwoofer gives Sonetto II deeper bass extension and greater scale than the more compact Sonetto I.
Features
Organic Driver Basket
Sonetto II uses an organically shaped driver basket derived from technologies employed in Sonus faber’s Reference and Homage Collections. Its asymmetric structure provides mechanical support without creating regularly repeating patterns while allowing improved airflow around the driver.
Intono Technology
Sonus faber’s Intono system is positioned between the reflex duct and the internal acoustic chamber. It is designed to reduce unwanted frequencies and internal distortion, helping create a quieter enclosure and cleaner overall performance.
Optimized Reflex Duct
The front-facing reflex system is designed to provide greater flexibility in speaker placement. Its optimized airflow and resonance control allow Sonetto II to work effectively in a variety of positions, including closer to walls than many conventional rear-ported bookshelf speakers.
DAD Silk-Dome Tweeter
Sonetto II uses Sonus faber’s 1.1” DAD (Damped Apex Dome) Arrow Point silk-dome tweeter. A copper cup helps extend response beyond 30 kHz, while a copper shorting ring contributes to controlled high-frequency performance.
Lute-Shaped Cabinet
The familiar Sonus faber lute shape has been redesigned for the Sonetto G2 Collection to help control internal resonances. Wood and leather finishes maintain the company’s traditional aesthetic, while a concrete base adds mass, stability, and vibration control.
