Sonus faber Sonetto I G2 Bookshelf Loudspeaker

Compact 2-way bookshelf speaker with 1.1” tweeter, 5” midwoofer, and 86 dB sensitivity

The second generation of Sonus faber’s Sonetto Collection brings technologies developed for the company’s higher-end loudspeakers into a more accessible range. Made in Italy, Sonetto G2 combines the company’s signature lute-shaped cabinets and natural materials with purpose-designed drivers, new crossover technology, and improved cabinet construction. The collection also incorporates technologies such as flower-patterned driver surrounds, optimized reflex loading, and concrete bases to improve resonance control and mechanical stability.

Sonetto I is the smallest loudspeaker in the Sonetto G2 Collection. Its 2-way design combines a 1.1” DAD silk-dome tweeter with a 5” midwoofer in a compact front-vented enclosure. Intono technology helps control unwanted energy inside the cabinet, while the front-facing reflex system makes the speaker easier to accommodate in smaller rooms and positions closer to walls.

Features

Flower-Patterned Midwoofer Surround

The 5” midwoofer uses an asymmetric flower-patterned rubber suspension surrounding its sandwich-cone diaphragm. The shape is designed to break up circular modes, improve linearity, and reduce interference while maintaining controlled dispersion.

Intono Technology

Sonus faber’s Intono system is positioned between the reflex duct and the internal acoustic chamber. It is designed to reduce unwanted frequencies and internal distortion, helping create a quieter enclosure and cleaner overall performance.

Optimized Reflex Duct

Sonetto I uses a front-facing optimized reflex system designed to make placement less critical. The duct manages airflow and cabinet resonance while allowing the speaker to operate effectively in a variety of locations, including relatively close to room boundaries.

Open-Pore Wood Finish

The open-pore wood finish preserves the visible and tactile grain of the natural veneer, reinforcing the use of organic materials that has long been part of Sonus faber’s visual and acoustic design language.

Lute-Shaped Cabinet

Sonus faber’s familiar lute-shaped enclosure has been redesigned for the Sonetto G2 Collection to help control internal resonances. Wood and leather finishes are complemented by a concrete base that adds stability and helps reduce unwanted vibration.
