Sonus faber’s Homage Collection combines the company’s most recognizable design language with technologies developed to improve driver control, resonance management, and spatial coherence. Made in Vicenza, Italy, the collection retains the signature lute-shaped cabinet and extensive use of natural wood, leather, and metal while incorporating technologies including Intono midrange loading, Phase Coherent crossovers, and revised driver systems.

Named for eighteenth-century Venetian luthier Santo Serafino, the Serafino G2 is a 3.5-way floorstanding loudspeaker positioned between the Guarneri and Amati models in the Homage Collection. Its driver complement includes a 1.1” DAD soft-dome tweeter, a 5.9” neodymium midrange, and two 7.1” woofers, with a vented Stealth Ultraflex bass system and Sonus faber’s Intono technology used to control internal acoustic pressure around the midrange.

Intono Technology

Intono uses a specially structured internal chamber to reduce acoustic pressure within a targeted frequency range. By managing resonances inside the enclosure, the system is designed to allow the midrange driver to operate with lower distortion and greater clarity.

Updated Driver System

Serafino G2 uses a 5.9” midrange driver with a powerful neodymium motor system for fast, precise voice-coil control. Its dual 7.1” woofers employ revised voice coils and spider materials to increase air movement and extend low-frequency response.

DAD Arrow Point Tweeter

The 1.1” high-power neodymium tweeter uses Sonus faber’s DAD (Damped Apex Dome) Arrow Point architecture. The extended-range soft-dome design is intended to control movement at the apex of the diaphragm while maintaining smooth high-frequency dispersion.

Phase Coherent Crossover

The Phase Coherent Level 3 crossover uses hand-soldered high-end components, including Jantzen inductors and custom capacitors. Its topology is designed to preserve phase relationships between the drivers, supporting a stable, three-dimensional soundstage while maintaining high power handling and a low noise floor.

Optimized Midrange Phase Plug

Developed through computer simulation, the midrange phase plug incorporates a damping ring designed to reduce turbulence and guide the driver’s output into a more consistent wave pattern. This helps smooth frequency response and maintain clarity both on and off axis.

Stealth Ultraflex Bass System

The woofers operate in a vented enclosure using Sonus faber’s Stealth Ultraflex system. Its extruded-aluminum external duct acts as the exponential section of the reflex port, improving airflow while also contributing additional structural rigidity to the cabinet.

Handcrafted Lute-Shaped Cabinet

Serafino G2 is handcrafted at Sonus faber’s factory in Vicenza, Italy. Its curved lute-shaped enclosure uses nine layers of natural wood selected and matched for grain, followed by nine coats of lacquer. Leather and aluminum detailing complete the cabinet, while ZVT spikes provide mechanical decoupling from the floor.
