Sonus faber’s Homage Collection combines the company’s most recognizable design language with technologies developed to improve driver control, resonance management, and spatial coherence. Made in Vicenza, Italy, the collection retains the signature lute-shaped cabinet and extensive use of natural wood, leather, and metal while incorporating technologies including Intono midrange loading, Phase Coherent crossovers, and revised driver systems.

The fifth generation of Amati is the flagship of the Homage Collection and takes its name from Renaissance violin maker Nicolò Amati. Its 3.5-way architecture combines a 1.1” DAD Arrow Point tweeter, 5.9” neodymium midrange, and two 8.7” woofers. The midrange operates in a sealed Intono enclosure, while the woofers use Sonus faber’s Stealth Ultraflex vented loading system.

Intono Midrange Enclosure

Amati G5 uses Sonus faber’s Intono technology around the midrange driver. The sealed internal chamber is designed to manage acoustic pressure and suppress resonances within a targeted frequency range, helping the midrange operate with greater clarity and lower coloration.

Neodymium Midrange Motor

The 5.9” midrange uses a neodymium magnet system engineered for precise control of the moving assembly. Its motor structure is designed to improve speed and transient response while maintaining the natural tonal balance associated with the Homage Collection.

Dual 8.7” Woofers

Two 8.7” woofers use Sonus faber’s Dual Drive Motor System. Redesigned ultra-light voice coils reduce moving mass for faster response, while the large combined radiating area gives Amati G5 substantial low-frequency extension and dynamic capability.

DAD Arrow Point Tweeter

High frequencies are handled by a 1.1” high-power neodymium DAD (Damped Apex Dome) Arrow Point soft-dome tweeter. The design controls movement at the dome apex while extending response well beyond the audible range.

Phase Coherent Crossover

The crossover uses high-end components and Sonus faber’s Phase Coherent Level 3 topology. Crossover points at 200 Hz, 270 Hz, and 2.2 kHz are chosen to integrate the driver sections while preserving consistent phase relationships through the transition regions.

Stealth Ultraflex Bass System

The woofers operate in a vented enclosure using Sonus faber’s Stealth Ultraflex system. Its external aluminum duct forms part of the reflex loading while helping control airflow and reinforcing the cabinet structure.

Handcrafted Lute-Shaped Cabinet

Amati G5 is handcrafted in Vicenza, Italy, using nine layers of wood selected and grain-matched before receiving nine layers of lacquer. The curved lute-shaped enclosure is complemented by Italian leather and aluminum details, preserving the traditional materials and proportions of Sonus faber’s Homage series.
