The REL Commander is designed as the most affordable yet sonically capable .1/LFE subwoofer cable in the REL lineup. It distills lessons from the higher-end Commodore, delivering strong build quality and carefully engineered performance at a fraction of the cost. Commander provides a clean, stable signal path for dedicated low-frequency effects channels.

Per REL, this cable is ideal for Serie T/x, HT/1003 MKII, HT/1205 MKII, and Classic 98 models.

At the core of Commander are oxygen-free copper conductors with a dedicated ground line. Polyethylene insulation and a tough yet flexible PVC jacket ensure durability while maintaining low noise. Available in black or white, the cable lies flat and blends neatly into any room.

Commander uses REL’s custom RCA connectors with reverse-thread barrels. These eliminate the common annoyance of the barrels coming loose as you try to remove the cables, instead they tighten as you try to twist the RCA connector off. Clear arrow indicators on each connector confirm correct signal flow for easy setup.

The Upscale View

Upgrading interconnects and high-level cable to a subwoofer might seem like a waste of time. But that's only in old-school subwoofer world where the bass is fat and loose and ragged. When you have RELs, you have bass that is fast and textured, and is able to stop just as quickly as it starts. This means that RELs can reveal cable upgrades, and you'll hear it as a SNAP into focus of the soundstage in stereo setups, and a kick in the chest in .1 setups, even though you haven't touched the gain.
