The 212 Black Label is REL’s most commanding Serie S subwoofer, designed to anchor large-scale home theaters and drive reference two-channel systems. Its triple-plane cabinet design houses dual 12" active drivers and dual 12" passive radiators, delivering stunning scale and unmatched authority.

Powered by a 1000 W linear Class D amplifier, the 212 Black Label combines massive output with speed, nuance, and control. Whether filling a dedicated theatre or a world-class stereo system, it maintains precision and refinement at every level.

Finished in Piano Black and supplied with a matching black cloth grille, it also offers an optional premium wood grille. Like all Serie S models, it is Airship Direct™ ready, enabling wireless operation without compromising performance.

The Three Planes

The 212 is often called the "poor man's six-pack" as it offers the many levels of bass that you encounter with a REL line array of three stacked subwoofers on each side. In the 212, the active drivers fire forwards, with the lower one getting more reinforcement from the floor, and the upper "floating" one being able to better convey nuance. The passive down-firing driver does "room crawling" bass which emphasizes the lowest frequencies, and locks down the bass line, and also gives you the sense of being in very large spaces, for example, with recordings in churches or auditoriums. The rear-firing passive creates the air and space, and opens up the soundstage in every direction.
