RAAL 1995 Immanis Open-Back Dual-Ribbon Headphones
IMMANIS is an open-back, circumaural headphone with a vented front chamber and RAAL 1995’s R³ true-ribbon triple-driver configuration. Released in February 2024, it uses three ribbon elements rather than a conventional dynamic, planar magnetic, or electrostatic driver system.
Its design is intended to combine the speed and low moving mass of true-ribbon drivers with the larger radiating area and output capability needed for full-range headphone use. The open-back construction and vented front chamber support a spacious presentation, while the triple-ribbon motor is used to increase surface area, excursion capability, and maximum SPL compared with a single-ribbon approach.
In use, IMMANIS is positioned as a top-tier headphone for listeners who want a highly resolving, fast, open presentation with wide spatial scale and strong transient response.
