The EVO 100 V2 Phonostage is built with zero op-amps, FETs, or transformers in the signal path. Why does that matter? Because while most so-called "tube" phono stages rely on FETs—costing just a few dollars—to simplify design and cut costs, that shortcut comes at the expense of sound quality. Weighing in at 27.9 lbs, the EVO 100 Phonostage features a true dual-mono signal path, powered by a pair of 5AR4 rectifier tubes that deliver the lush, organic tube sound that can stop you in your tracks. The massive toroidal power transformer is potted in non-microphonic resin and shielded in a custom metal enclosure—ensuring complete isolation from noise and vibration. Our exclusive AC Offset Killer eliminates mechanical hum.
The power supply is further refined with EL34 tubes acting as regulators, expertly suppressing low-frequency ripple that can rob music of its bass clarity and depth. The signal path? 100% hand-wired using Swiss-made, silver-plated, oxygen-free copper cable. Every tube socket is ceramic. Every component is hand-selected for maximum performance and longevity.
Even our attention to vibration control is obsessive. The EVO 100 supports both moving magnet and moving coil cartridges, with intelligent features tailored to audiophiles:
- MM stage includes two capacitance settings to eliminate high-frequency ringing. While today's MM and high output Moving Iron cartridges can be top performers, you'll think you just dropped a few grand on a new cartridge.
- MC stage offers three gain settings and five impedance options, with the MC board fully mechanically decoupled for unmatched signal integrity.

NEW V2 Switchable 12AX7/6922 Moving Coil Section
The PrimaLuna EVO 100 V2 model features 12AX7 tubes in the moving coil gain stage, providing an additional 2dB of gain for each of the low, medium, and high gain settings compared to the V1 model, which uses only 6922 tubes. There is an internal switch that allows users to switch to 6922 tube mode. This offers unparalleled flexibility and a wide range of tube options, including NOS (new old stock) tubes.

*Given the different filament voltage between a 6922 and a 12AX7, you cannot simply swap between the two. You must flip the internal 6.3V/12.6V filament switch.
