The Phasemation PP-Mono is a long-awaited MC monaural phono cartridge created to reproduce music reality and, says Phasemation, " Even the artist’s passion engraved in mono records."

The PP-Mono aims for harmony between the midrange and treble, with a resonant, powerful bass. It was released as a 10th-anniversary model marking a decade of Phasemation’s cartridge development.

At its core is a newly designed magneto (generator) system optimized specifically for mono. The stylus uses a 0.65 mil round diamond tip, paired with a lightweight, rigid aluminum pipe cantilever chosen for its ability to trace monaural signals with high efficiency and resolution. By combining this mechanical system with Phasemation’s own magneto coil design, the PP-Mono is intended to deliver a vivid, spacious sound field and freshness that conventional mono cartridges struggle to achieve.

The body structure combines a stainless-steel base with a duralumin body, both treated with a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating to improve rigidity and vibration damping. Together with a samarium-cobalt magnet, 6N oxygen-free copper magneto coil, and pure iron coil bobbin inherited from the PP-1000, the PP-Mono is built as a low-impedance moving-coil mono cartridge for serious analog systems focused on extracting the most from dedicated mono pressings.
