MM/MC non-feedback phonostage with dual-mono layout and all-discrete circuitry

The EA-220 is a non-feedback, all-discrete phonostage with an 8 mm thick aluminum front panel and 1.2 mm thick steel chassis with copper plating. With added isolation from heavy feet, the refined circuit preserves the natural dynamics and nuance of vinyl playback by avoiding the time-delay artifacts of feedback-based designs.

A dual-mono circuit layout ensures symmetry between left and right channels, while carefully selected capacitors, resistors, and low-noise diodes optimize sound quality. The R-core transformer and vibration-isolating metal feet contribute to stable, quiet operation. Its copper-plated steel chassis with thick aluminum front panel provides rigidity and reduces magnetic distortion.

• The RIAA elements, which have a high impact on the sound quality, use 1% grade metal film resistors with a generous rated capacitance and high-quality film capacitors.
