The Phasemation CM-2200 is a hybrid passive preamplifier built around a patented transformer-based attenuator, designed to preserve signal purity while offering both 0 dB and +6 dB operating modes. It accepts both balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) inputs and provides corresponding balanced and unbalanced outputs, using rhodium-plated Furutech terminals and TAOC high-carbon cast-iron insulators to minimize vibration and contact losses. A newly developed attenuator transformer, wound with ultra-thin core material and PC-Triple C wire, delivers wide-bandwidth response, high channel separation, and exceptionally low distortion.

The CM-2200’s balanced-spec attenuator transformer integrates hot and cold windings in a single core, enabling true balanced operation while also generating a balanced signal internally from unbalanced inputs. This contributes to high common-mode rejection and stable impedance characteristics across its 0 dB and +6 dB gain settings. With no active gain devices or power cord in the signal path, the CM-2200 functions as a precision control center for high-resolution systems, emphasizing transparency, image stability, and a natural, unforced presentation.
