Peachtree Audio Nova 125 Integrated Amplifier and DAC

The Peachtree Audio Nova 125 combines an integrated amplifier, high-resolution DAC, analog preamplifier, and headphone amplifier in one compact component. Developed as a more powerful member of the Nova family, it delivers 125 Wpc into 8 ohms and 220 Wpc into 4 ohms while accommodating both digital and analog sources.

Its high-current class-D power amplifier is rated to drive speaker loads as low as 2 ohms, with up to 30 A of output current. A variable preamp output can feed an external power amplifier or powered subwoofer, while five-way binding posts accept banana plugs, spades, or bare speaker wire.

ESS Sabre Digital Conversion

The digital section is built around an ESS Sabre 9023 DAC and supports resolutions up to 24-bit/192 kHz. Its asynchronous USB input accepts signals up to 24/192, as do the two coaxial inputs, while the optical input supports resolutions up to 24/96.

Galvanic isolation helps prevent electrical noise from connected computers and digital sources from entering the audio circuitry. Peachtree specifies jitter at less than 3 ps measured at the master clock and a dynamic range of 121 dB.

Switchable Tube Buffer

A single 6N1P triode provides Peachtree’s switchable tube buffer. It can be engaged or bypassed from the remote control, allowing the listener to choose between tube-buffered and solid-state operation without changing components or connections.

An analog auxiliary input accommodates line-level sources such as a phonostage, tape deck, or other analog component. The Nova 125 also includes a 12 V trigger output for automatically switching compatible connected equipment.

Dedicated Headphone Amplifier

The front-panel headphone amplifier provides a dedicated output for personal listening rather than relying on the comparatively limited headphone circuitry found in many source components. It is integrated into the Nova 125’s preamplifier section, making the unit equally suitable for speaker and headphone systems.
