The Peachtree Audio Grand Integrated X-1 combines a high-power integrated amplifier, high-resolution DAC, hybrid tube preamplifier, and class-A headphone amplifier in one chassis. Designed as Peachtree’s no-compromise integrated of its generation, it delivers 440 Wpc into 8 ohms while providing digital and analog connectivity for a complete two-channel system.

The balanced class-D power amplifier was designed to work directly with the Grand Integrated X-1’s preamplifier section. Its 440 Wpc output provides substantial power for demanding loudspeakers, while the amplifier’s approximately 90% efficiency keeps heat output comparatively low.

ESS Sabre32 Digital Conversion

The digital section is built around the ESS Sabre32 9018 DAC and supports resolutions up to 24-bit/192 kHz. Its asynchronous USB input uses an XMOS receiver, allowing the Grand Integrated X-1’s internal clock to control data flow from the computer rather than relying on the computer’s audio clock.

Two coaxial, two optical, BNC, and USB digital inputs accommodate a wide range of sources. Galvanic isolation is used on grounded digital inputs to help prevent electrical noise from connected components from reaching the DAC circuitry, while selectable Sharp and Slow digital filter slopes provide two choices of digital filtering.

Bascom King Tube Stage

The hybrid preamplifier incorporates a Bascom King-designed tube buffer using two 12AU7 tubes. The tube stage can be engaged or bypassed from the remote control, allowing the listener to switch between hybrid tube and solid-state operation.

Two analog line-level inputs are provided, with Aux 1 switchable to home-theater bypass. In bypass mode, a surround processor controls the front-channel volume while the Grand Integrated X-1 functions as the power amplifier for the main left and right speakers.

Flexible Preamplifier Outputs

The Grand Integrated X-1 provides both fixed and variable analog outputs. Its variable preamp output can feed an external power amplifier or powered subwoofer, while a separate high-pass preamp output can operate full-range or engage an 80 Hz, 12 dB/octave high-pass filter. The fixed line output allows the unit to function as a DAC and source selector feeding another preamplifier.

Class-A Headphone Amplifier

The dedicated class-A headphone amplifier routes its signal through the 12AU7 tube stage, bringing the Grand Integrated X-1’s hybrid architecture to headphone listening as well as loudspeaker playback.
