The Peachtree Audio Decco65 combines an integrated amplifier, high-resolution DAC, hybrid tube preamplifier, and headphone amplifier in one compact component. Its mix of USB, coaxial, optical, and analog inputs makes it particularly well suited to systems built around computers, streamers, televisions, and other digital sources.

The class-D power amplifier delivers 65 Wpc into 8 ohms and 95 Wpc into 4 ohms. A variable preamp output allows the Decco65 to drive an external power amplifier or powered subwoofer, while five-way binding posts accept banana plugs, spades, or bare speaker wire.

ESS Sabre Digital Conversion

The digital section is built around an ESS Sabre 9023 DAC with 24-bit/192 kHz upsampling. Its asynchronous USB input supports resolutions up to 24/192, as do the two coaxial inputs, while the optical input supports resolutions up to 24/96.

Galvanic isolation is used on grounded digital inputs to help prevent electrical noise from connected computers and other source components from entering the DAC circuitry. Peachtree specifies jitter at less than 3 ps measured at the master clock.

Switchable Tube Buffer

The hybrid preamplifier uses a stereo 6N1P triode tube that can be switched into or out of the signal path from the remote control. This allows the listener to choose between tube-buffered and solid-state operation to suit the source material or personal preference.

A stereo analog auxiliary input accommodates line-level sources such as a phonostage or tape deck, while a 12 V trigger output can automatically switch on compatible connected equipment.

Class-A Headphone Amplifier

The front-panel headphone amplifier uses a class-A output stage with the 6N1P tube in the circuit. Connecting headphones automatically switches off the loudspeaker outputs, and Peachtree specifies compatibility with electrodynamic headphones across a wide range of impedances.
