The Musical Fidelity M8xTT is a high-end turntable that revisits the design philosophy of Musical Fidelity’s legendary M1 from 2004. The original concept was to combine the inert mass of metal alloys with the low-resonance behavior of acrylic, while using a dual-chassis structure to decouple the motor from the tonearm and platter. The M8xTT follows that same idea, but with updated engineering throughout.

The chassis uses two acrylic plinths joined by four heavyweight aluminum feet with TPE damping and magnetic support. The feet are height-adjustable, making it easy to level the turntable precisely. The motor sits on special foam in the lower acrylic plinth, helping isolate it from the platter and tonearm, while electronic speed control lets you switch between 33 and 45 rpm.

The platter is a 10 kg sandwich aluminum design with aluminum inserts to improve flywheel effect, with TPE damping on both levels. A silicone belt connects the motor to the platter, while an inverted bearing with a ceramic ball tip provides a low-friction rotational foundation.

The included 10" Musical Fidelity tonearm is a new ultra-low-resonance design with a transparent acrylic bearing ring and conical aluminum arm tube. It is fully adjustable for VTA and azimuth, and comes with two TPE-damped counterweights for use with cartridges from 6 to 20 g. Around the back, the M8xTT provides both standard phono RCA outputs and balanced XLR outputs, giving you flexibility with a wide range of phono preamps.
