Like the matching M2si integrated amplifier, the M2scd is designed as serious hi-fi available at a modest price. From the fine fit and finish of its metal casework to the careful engineering of its internals, it feels far more substantial than its price suggests.
Inside, the M2scd builds on years of engineering expertise, uniquely combining a mains choke filter with a high-tech digital-noise filter. These technologies work together to lower distortion, flatten frequency response, and minimize noise and jitter, letting the player retrieve the musical signal with precision and stability.
The M2scd’s DAC design is directly inspired by higher-end Musical Fidelity models, using a 24-bit delta-sigma dual-differential 8x oversampling circuit for excellent data recovery from your discs. A high-quality line-level RCA output plus both coaxial and optical digital outputs make it easy to integrate into a wide range of systems, whether you use the internal DAC or feed an external one.
