The Meze Audio Ultra Cable is a flagship upgrade cable for the Empyrean, Empyrean II, Elite, and Arta headphones. It combines high-purity silver conductors with an intricate hand-braided construction and durable metal hardware inspired by the streamlined forms of the Art Deco era.

Each cable is individually handcrafted in Baia Mare, Romania. The standard 1.2 m cable is available with 3.5 mm, balanced 4.4 mm, 6.3 mm, or balanced 4-pin XLR source-end termination, while dual 4-pin mini XLR connectors provide the connection to the headphones.

7N Pure-Silver Conductors

The Ultra Cable uses silver with a stated purity of 99.99999%, commonly described as 7N silver. Its 40 individual conductors each measure 0.08 mm in diameter and are arranged in a continuous 16-wire-to-8-wire braid. This geometry is intended to reduce the magnetic fields created by the conductors and minimize incoming and outgoing electromagnetic interference.

Hand-Braided Construction

Meze completes each Ultra Cable individually by hand and produces only one per day. The complex braid runs continuously through the cable, while a PVC dielectric separates and protects the conductors. Jensen 5% silver solder is used at the connections.

Streamline Moderne Design

The connector shells and Y-splitter are made from cast zinc alloy with a durable PVD coating. Their curved, aerodynamic forms draw from the Streamline Moderne design movement while providing secure, comfortable handling.

The cable arrives in a premium hard case with an Alcantara cloth that protects it during storage and can also be used to clean the metallic components.
