The McIntosh MT10 Precision Turntable combines a substantial belt-drive design, carefully engineered platter and bearing system, precision tonearm, and factory-installed low-output moving coil cartridge in a turntable designed to deliver high-performance vinyl playback with minimal setup. It plays 33-1/3, 45, and 78 rpm records, with tracking force, antiskate, and cartridge position preset at the factory.

The silicon acrylic platter rotates on a magnetic suspended ceramic bearing designed to provide smooth, stable operation with minimal mechanical contact. Electronic speed control incorporates a braking feature, while fine speed adjustment allows precise calibration. An illuminated speed meter makes it easy to confirm the selected platter speed.

The DC brushless motor drives the platter by belt and is electronically controlled for stable rotational speed. The MT10’s substantial chassis, weighing 42 lb., is designed to provide a stable foundation for playback, while illuminated McIntosh styling integrates the turntable visually with other components in a McIntosh system.

The lightweight, rigid tonearm uses a dural-aluminum arm tube. Its vertical bearings use precision ceramic surfaces, while the horizontal bearing uses a gimballed sapphire design. Vertical tracking angle, antiskate, and azimuth are adjustable.

A low-output moving coil cartridge is supplied with the MT10. It uses an ebony body, elliptical diamond stylus, aluminum cantilever, and a recommended tracking force of 2.4 g. Its 0.5 mV output is intended for use with a compatible moving coil phonostage.
