The McIntosh MC1.25KW is a single-chassis monoblock power amplifier delivering 1,200 W into 2-, 4-, or 8-ohm loudspeaker loads. McIntosh Autoformer technology makes the amplifier’s full rated output available at each of those impedances, allowing the MC1.25KW to maintain consistent power delivery across a wide range of loudspeaker designs.

The MC1.25KW uses McIntosh’s Quad Balanced circuit architecture to reduce noise and distortion within the amplification stages. Compared with the preceding MC1.2KW, filter capacity was increased by 50%, contributing to improved low-frequency performance and 2.2 dB of dynamic headroom for demanding musical peaks.

Four McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks are coupled to the amplifier’s high-current output transistors for efficient thermal management. Power Guard continuously monitors the signal to help prevent clipping, while Sentry Monitor provides fuse-less short-circuit protection for the output stage.

Balanced and unbalanced inputs are joined by corresponding pass-through outputs, making it easier to feed another amplifier for bi-amping or tri-amping, connect a powered subwoofer, or route the same signal to another system. A large 11" blue watt meter dominates the front panel, while the polished stainless-steel chassis, black glass fascia, aluminum handles, and direct LED illumination retain McIntosh’s familiar visual design.

McIntosh Autoformer output technology allows the MC1.25KW to deliver its full rated 1,200 W into 2-, 4-, or 8-ohm loudspeakers rather than reserving maximum output for a single nominal impedance.

Quad Balanced Circuitry

McIntosh’s Quad Balanced topology uses complementary amplifier sections to cancel noise and distortion components within the signal path while providing the current capability required for high-power operation.

Increased Filter Capacity

A 50% increase in filter capacity compared with the preceding MC1.2KW improves energy storage, contributes to stronger low-frequency performance, and provides 2.2 dB of dynamic headroom.

Power Guard

Power Guard continuously compares the amplifier’s input and output signals and adjusts the input when necessary to prevent clipping that could otherwise produce harsh distortion or damage loudspeakers.

Sentry Monitor

Sentry Monitor provides fuse-less short-circuit protection for the output stage, disengaging it before current exceeds safe operating limits and automatically restoring operation when conditions return to normal.

Monogrammed Heatsinks

Four McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks are connected to the high-current output transistors to provide efficient thermal management and help minimize thermal equilibrium lag.

Flexible System Connections

Balanced and unbalanced pass-through outputs can feed another amplifier for bi-amping or tri-amping, a powered subwoofer, or a secondary system without requiring an additional output from the preamplifier.

Solid Cinch Speaker Binding Posts

McIntosh Solid Cinch speaker binding posts provide secure speaker-cable connections and are gold-plated to resist corrosion.

Power Control

McIntosh Power Control allows compatible components to receive coordinated power-on and power-off commands as part of a complete McIntosh system.
