McIntosh MAC7200 2-Channel Receiver

The McIntosh MAC7200 combines a high-power integrated amplifier, comprehensive analog and digital connectivity, and a built-in AM/FM tuner in a single chassis. Its solid-state output stage delivers 200 W per channel into 2, 4, or 8 ohms through McIntosh Autoformers, allowing the full rated output to be delivered across all three speaker impedances.

Eight analog inputs include one balanced, five unbalanced, and dedicated Moving Coil and Moving Magnet phono inputs. The MC input provides adjustable loading, while the MM input uses fixed loading. Two unbalanced variable outputs provide additional system flexibility, and Home Theater PassThru allows the MAC7200 to be integrated into a multichannel system.

Built-In AM/FM Tuner

The MAC7200 includes a high-performance AM/FM tuner with 20 presets for each band. Its FM section supports Radio Data System (RDS) information where available, while an advanced signal quality monitor can display multipath and noise levels to help optimize antenna placement. A remote AM antenna is also included.

Dedicated front-panel Preset and Tuning controls provide direct access to radio functions, giving the MAC7200 the functionality of a traditional McIntosh tuner without requiring a separate component.

DA2 Digital Audio Module

The installed DA2 Digital Audio Module provides seven digital inputs: two coaxial, two optical, USB, MCT, and an audio-only HDMI ARC connection. Its Quad Balanced eight-channel, 32-bit DAC supports PCM up to 32-bit/384 kHz through USB, along with DSD512 and DXD384. Coaxial and optical inputs support PCM up to 24-bit/192 kHz.

The HDMI ARC input allows audio from a compatible television to be played through the MAC7200, while the proprietary MCT input provides a dedicated connection for compatible McIntosh SACD/CD transports. The MAC7200 is also Roon Tested for use with compatible computer-based Roon systems.

McIntosh Power and Protection

Power Guard monitors the output signal and helps prevent amplifier clipping, while Sentry Monitor provides fuse-less protection against excessive operating current. Monogrammed Heatsinks dissipate heat from the high-current output transistors, and bass and treble tone controls can be bypassed when not required.

A High Drive headphone amplifier with Headphone Crossfeed Director (HXD) is provided for headphone listening. Power Control outputs, Data Ports, RS232 control, input level matching, and a rear-panel IR sensor input provide additional integration and control options.
