The McIntosh DS200 Streaming DAC combines network streaming, high-resolution digital conversion, and extensive digital connectivity in a single component. It supports Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Bluetooth, and Roon, allowing music to be played directly from familiar apps without requiring a dedicated McIntosh control application.

At the heart of the DS200 is a Quad Balanced, eight-channel, 32-bit DAC. USB playback supports PCM up to 32-bit/384 kHz, DSD512, and DXD up to 384 kHz, while coaxial and optical inputs support PCM up to 24-bit/192 kHz. An MCT input accepts both CD and SACD data from compatible McIntosh transports.

The DS200 provides eight digital inputs in total, including USB, coaxial, optical, AES/EBU, MCT, and HDMI ARC. HDMI ARC allows compatible televisions to feed audio directly into the system, with supported Dolby and DTS multichannel formats converted to two-channel audio for stereo playback.

Balanced and unbalanced analog outputs can operate at either fixed or variable level. In fixed mode, the DS200 functions as a source component feeding a conventional preamplifier or integrated amplifier. Variable mode adds volume control, allowing it to connect directly to a power amplifier in an all-digital system.

Built-In Network Streaming

Roon Ready and Roon Tested

Roon Ready certification allows the DS200 to operate as a network endpoint within a Roon system, while Roon Tested certification confirms compatibility for straightforward setup and operation.

Quad Balanced DAC

A Quad Balanced, eight-channel, 32-bit DAC handles digital-to-analog conversion, supporting high-resolution PCM, DXD, and DSD playback.

Eight Digital Inputs

Two coaxial, two optical, USB, AES/EBU, MCT, and HDMI ARC inputs accommodate a wide variety of digital sources ranging from computers and disc transports to televisions.

High-Resolution USB Playback

The USB input supports PCM up to 32-bit/384 kHz along with DSD64, DSD128, DSD256, DSD512, and DXD at 352.8 and 384 kHz.

Bluetooth 5.0

Bluetooth 5.0 provides wireless playback with AAC, Qualcomm aptX, aptX HD, and aptX Low Latency support.

HDMI ARC

An HDMI Audio Return Channel input allows the DS200 to reproduce television audio through a two-channel system. Compatible Dolby and DTS multichannel signals are converted to stereo for playback.

Fixed or Variable Outputs

The balanced and unbalanced analog outputs can be configured for fixed or variable level. Variable operation allows the DS200 to control volume directly when connected to a power amplifier.

McIntosh System Control

Power Control, Data, IR sensor, and RS232 connections allow the DS200 to integrate with compatible McIntosh components and more advanced control systems.
