Marantz CINEMA 50 9.4-Channel AV Receiver

Nine Channels of Amplification, 11.4-Channel Processing, 8K Video, and Advanced Room Correction

The Marantz CINEMA 50 brings serious home theater capability to a single component, combining nine channels of discrete amplification, immersive surround sound processing, extensive HDMI connectivity, and built-in music streaming. Rated at 110 watts per channel into 8 ohms with two channels driven, it can power a 5.1.4 or 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos speaker system without external amplification. With 11.4-channel processing and preamplifier outputs, it also provides room to expand your system as your needs change.

Positioned below the CINEMA 40 in the Marantz AV receiver lineup, the CINEMA 50 offers much of the flexibility expected from a dedicated home theater processor while retaining the convenience of an integrated receiver. Its class-AB amplification, proprietary Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module (HDAM) circuitry, and current-feedback design reflect Marantz's longstanding emphasis on audio performance. The familiar porthole display, symmetrical front panel, and concealed controls give it the distinctive appearance of the CINEMA Series.

Immersive Sound With Room to Grow

The CINEMA 50 supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced, and Auro-3D, providing flexibility for a variety of immersive speaker configurations. Nine built-in amplifier channels accommodate systems with multiple surround and height speakers, while 11.4-channel processing allows expansion to configurations such as 7.1.4 with additional external amplification.

Four independent subwoofer outputs provide additional flexibility when integrating multiple subwoofers. The receiver also includes 11.4-channel preamplifier outputs, allowing external power amplifiers to handle selected channels or an expanded speaker system.

Advanced Room Correction

Audyssey MultEQ XT32 is built in, providing automated speaker calibration and room correction using the supplied measurement microphone. The system analyzes the acoustic response of your listening environment and adjusts speaker settings to help achieve more consistent performance. Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume are also included.

For users who want additional control over system calibration, the CINEMA 50 is upgradeable to Dirac Live room correction. Dirac Live requires a separate license, and additional measurement hardware may be required. This gives owners another option for refining speaker and room interaction without replacing the receiver.

8K Video and Modern Gaming Connectivity

All six HDMI inputs support 8K video, with compatibility for resolutions up to 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz. The CINEMA 50 also supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG), and Dynamic HDR, making it suitable for modern televisions, projectors, streaming devices, and gaming consoles.

Gaming features include Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), and Quick Frame Transport (QFT). Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) simplifies connections to compatible televisions, while HDMI output capability for a second zone adds flexibility for installations serving more than one room.

Music Streaming and Two-Channel Listening

With HEOS built in, the CINEMA 50 can stream music from supported services and participate in a multiroom audio system with other HEOS-enabled products. AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth, and network audio playback provide additional ways to access music. The receiver also supports high-resolution FLAC, WAV, ALAC, and DSD files.

Traditional sources haven't been overlooked. An MM phonostage accommodates a compatible turntable, while analog stereo inputs and optical and coaxial digital connections provide options for CD players, external streamers, and other audio components. Pure Direct mode offers a simplified signal path for music listening by bypassing selected processing circuits.

Flexible Installation and System Control

The CINEMA 50 includes assignable amplifier channels, Zone 2 audio capabilities, and a dedicated HDMI output for a second zone. Its setup assistant guides users through initial configuration, while the Marantz AVR Remote and HEOS apps provide control from compatible smartphones and tablets.

For more elaborate installations, IP control, RS-232, IR input, and a DC trigger output allow integration with compatible home automation and control systems. Network and USB firmware updates help keep the receiver's software current.
