LUMIN X2 is built around a new in-house discrete DAC and a solid billet CNC-machined chassis, with matching external linear power supply. Thick aluminum panels, internal shielding, and IsoAcoustics isolating feet on the main chassis are designed to control vibration and noise while giving the X2 the clean, minimal look common to the LUMIN range. The X2 is available in black anodised aluminum or raw anodised aluminum, each with a matching power supply.

Lumin is THE brand for hi-fi enthusiasts who don't need touchscreens, knobs, and a host of extra features. With its background in broadcast engineering, Lumin epitomizes providing the lowest noise and most stable, high-bandwidth circuits. On a Lumin, everything extraneous can be turned off: unused digital outputs, unused processing streams such as Roon and Lumin streaming, the display, and even the RJ45 LEDs. The result of this tight focus is a light, lithe, airy sound with a huge, natural soundstage, and no artificial warmth or bloom.

Sure, the Lumin app takes a little getting used to, but once you're comfortable, it's fast, stable and most of all, sounds the best. With the X2, you can further drop noise by using the SFP port for optical Ethernet. A digital output means you are still free to play with different external DACs.

At its core, X2 uses a fully custom dual-mono LUMIN Discrete DAC controlled by dual ultra-high-speed FPGAs, operating with full 32-bit processing and supporting native DSD512 and PCM up to 768 kHz. A new fully balanced analog output module with output transformer compensation circuitry feeds dual Lundahl LL7401 output transformers, while a femto clock system with dual femto crystal oscillators and FPGA-based distribution is specified to reduce jitter and timing errors. A dual-mono, dual-stage low-noise linear regulator supports the analog converters, and up/down sampling up to DSD256 and PCM 384 kHz allows flexible playback and processing.

Connectivity includes an SFP socket for an optical network connection that provides galvanic isolation from the rest of the system, alongside 1000Base-T Ethernet with dual network ports so additional devices such as a NAS or LUMIN music library can be daisy-chained. USB and BNC S/PDIF digital outputs support PCM and DSD, while balanced XLR and single-ended RCA analog outputs provide up to 6 Vrms and 3 Vrms respectively. X2 is Roon Ready and supports TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay-compatible streaming, KKBox, QQMusic, FLAC internet radio, Amazon Music Unlimited, and more, all controlled via the LUMIN app with Leedh Processing lossless digital volume control.
