KLH Model Four Floorstanding Speakers

Three-way acoustic suspension performance in a compact, placement-friendly design

The KLH Model Four brings the three-way architecture of the Model Five to a slimmer cabinet designed for rooms where space is limited. Positioned between the Model Three and Model Five, it combines the Model Three’s 8" woofer with the 4" midrange driver, 1" aluminum-dome tweeter, and crossover architecture of the Model Five.

Its sealed acoustic suspension enclosure provides controlled bass without requiring the generous rear clearance commonly needed by ported speakers. The cabinet measures just 8.25" deep without its riser base, making the Model Four well suited to placement near a wall while preserving the wide-baffle proportions of KLH’s larger Model Collection speakers.

Three-Way Acoustic Suspension Design

An 8" pulp-paper cone woofer extends the frequency response down to 46 Hz, while a dedicated 4" pulp-paper cone midrange handles the critical vocal range. A 1" aluminum-dome tweeter completes the three-way system, allowing each driver to operate across a more focused portion of the frequency spectrum.

Acoustic Balance Control

The three-position Acoustic Balance Control lets you adjust the speaker’s midrange and high-frequency output to suit the room, speaker placement, and listening position. This modern implementation revives a KLH feature first introduced during the 1960s.

Compact Footprint, Proper Listening Height

Each Model Four includes a matte-black riser base that angles the cabinet backward by 6°, aligning the midrange driver and tweeter with the listener. With the riser installed, the speaker stands 32.2" high while occupying a footprint less than 11" deep.
