IsoFlare Point Source Driver

The Fyne Audio Vintage Classic Gold SP Series features an advanced IsoFlare™ point source driver. The point-source design allows for a more immersive listening experience by radiating sound isotropically, providing a constant directivity pattern that follows the flare of the driver cone.

The Gold SP models are equipped with upgraded IsoFlare drivers, featuring neodymium magnets and a titanium alloy compression tweeter for the larger 10, 12, and 15-inch versions, while the 8-inch model uses a magnesium dome. These enhancements reduce distortion, extend frequency response, and deliver a smooth, natural performance. The FyneFlute™ surround further improves the driver’s ability to eliminate mis-termination effects and reduces coloration, ensuring precise bass and midrange clarity. This meticulous driver design is the core of the Vintage Classic Gold SP Series, offering a fusion of retro aesthetic and state-of-the-art acoustic performance.

Bass Trax Tractrix Diffuser System

The patent pending BassTrax Tractrix profile LF diffuser system is a complex yet refined approach to bass loading and reflex porting. It incorporates a twin cavity cabinet design with a tuned waveguide port firing downwards from the reinforced lower panel of the cabinet. This loading technique broadens the tuning frequency to reduce cone excursion and acts as a damping system that blocks potential standing wave resonances produced by the main internal port between cavities.

The lower cavity bass port vents downwards onto the BassTrax Tractrix profile diffuser. The unique, mathematically derived tractrix profile maintains a true 90-degree angle at each intersection of the expanding wavefront, so converts plain wave LF energy into a horizontally expanding spherical 360-degree wavefront with no loss of total energy. The result is seamlessly uniform LF integration into the room and a loudspeaker that is far less critical of room positioning.

The Crossover

The Vintage Classic Gold SP Series is equipped with an expertly designed, bi-wired passive crossover, fine-tuned for exceptional audio clarity. Using premium audiophile components, including high-grade polypropylene capacitors, low-loss laminated iron core inductors, and high-power precision resistors, the crossover is engineered to deliver a natural and transparent sound.

Each component is hand-wired on fibreboard panels to reduce vibration, while the entire assembly undergoes Deep Cryogenic Treatment (DCT) to improve the signal path which can become affected during the manufacturing process. This meticulous attention to detail ensures optimal signal transfer and precise frequency separation between the bass/midrange and high-frequency drivers.

The inclusion of upgraded gold-plated ETI terminals and Neotech PC-OCC wiring allows for superior conductivity and signal integrity, bringing out the best in every listening session.

Birch Cabinets

The Vintage Classic Gold SP Series cabinets are crafted from high-density birch ply, chosen for its strength and low resonance properties. Internally braced for added rigidity, the precisely manufactured cabinet minimizes unwanted vibrations, ensuring a cleaner, more accurate sound.
