Cubitt 5 combines loudspeakers, amplification, source switching, and volume control in one compact stereo system. All inputs, DSP, and amplification are housed in the primary speaker, while the secondary connects with the supplied 3 m speaker-level link cable. Add a source and use the IR remote to select the input and set the volume. No external amplifier, setup app, Wi-Fi network, or account is required.

Its four wired inputs and one wireless input make Cubitt 5 unusually flexible for a system of this size. A turntable with a moving-magnet or high-output moving-coil cartridge can connect directly to the built-in phonostage. HDMI ARC handles stereo TV sound over one cable. Optical digital and RCA line inputs accommodate streamers, disc players, DACs, computers, and game consoles, while Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD and AAC provides wireless playback from phones, tablets, and computers. A dedicated subwoofer output allows the system to grow.

Fyne Audio Point-Source Sound

Each speaker uses a 5" IsoFlare™ driver with a 19 mm titanium-dome tweeter mounted concentrically at the center of the bass/midrange cone. Because the two sections share a common acoustic center, sound radiates as though it originates from a single point. This arrangement is designed to provide precise stereo imaging and maintain a wide, coherent listening area even when you move away from the exact sweet spot.

The driver also incorporates FyneFlute™ surround technology. Its variable fluted geometry helps terminate energy at the edge of the cone, reducing reflections back along the cone that can cause coloration.

DSP Active Crossover and 240 W of Amplification

In a conventional passive loudspeaker, a high-level signal from an external amplifier is divided by a passive crossover. Cubitt 5 instead divides and controls the signal in DSP before amplification. Its active crossover and 240 W of total maximum power drive the system directly, providing the control and dynamic ability of an active design without requiring separate amplification. Digital playback is supported at resolutions up to 24-bit/96 kHz.

A Direct Route From Turntable to Speakers

The stereo RCA phono input supports moving-magnet and high-output moving-coil cartridges, and a grounding terminal is provided for turntables that require one. This makes Cubitt 5 a simple foundation for a first analog system: connect a compatible turntable and play records without adding a separate phonostage, preamp, or power amp.

One-Cable TV Audio

HDMI ARC carries stereo TV audio to the primary speaker over one cable, providing a true two-speaker alternative to a soundbar. Cubitt 5 accepts 2.0 PCM, so the television should be set to PCM or stereo output. Some televisions may also require the eARC function to be disabled.

Optical, RCA, and Bluetooth

The optical input can be used with a TV, network streamer, computer, or game console. The stereo RCA line input accepts an analog source such as a DAC, CD player, streamer, or preamp. Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD and AAC adds convenient wireless playback without requiring a Wi-Fi network or control app.

A dedicated mono subwoofer output allows a powered subwoofer to be added for greater low-frequency extension or additional impact with movies and games.

Simple Daily Operation

The supplied IR remote controls power, input selection, volume, mute, Bluetooth pairing, and Bluetooth track navigation. Cubitt 5 enters standby after approximately 20 minutes without a signal and wakes automatically when a signal returns on every input except phono, which requires the remote’s power button.

The rear USB port is reserved for firmware updates and does not accept an audio signal. A 3 m primary-to-secondary loudspeaker cable is included, and a longer 8 m cable is available separately.

Five Painted Finishes

The high-density MDF cabinets have soft-radius edges and are available in Arctic White, Midnight Black, Olive Green, Pearl Titanium, and Pebble Grey. Their compact footprint allows placement on a bookshelf, desk, work surface, or suitable speaker stand.
