The Eversolo DMP-A8 Master Gen 2 builds on the DMP-A8 Gen 2 platform with an integrated CD player and a more advanced clock system. It combines network streaming, local file playback, CD playback and ripping, digital-to-analog conversion, digital transport functions, room correction, and analog preamp control in one full-width component.

The CNC-machined aluminum-alloy chassis carries an 8.6" LCD touchscreen with a redesigned interface, large album artwork, VU meters, spectrum displays, and direct access to playback and system controls. A 64-bit octa-core processor works with 8 GB of memory and 64 GB of internal system storage for faster browsing, library indexing, and general operation.

Integrated CD Playback and Ripping

The Master model adds a custom top-loading CD mechanism designed for quiet playback and precise disc reading. Its error-correction and data-compensation systems help recover information from imperfect discs, while online metadata retrieval can add album artwork and track information.

CDs can also be ripped to a compatible internal SSD or external USB storage device. The library-management system can identify discs that have already been imported, helping prevent duplicate rips.

OCXO Clocking and External Clock Input

A low-phase-noise oven-controlled crystal oscillator keeps the clock at a stable operating temperature to reduce frequency drift caused by changes in the surrounding environment. Eversolo combines the OCXO with phase-locked loop technology and specifies clock jitter below 50 fs under its stated test conditions.

A 10 MHz external clock input allows the DMP-A8 Master Gen 2 to synchronize with a compatible standalone master clock. This gives owners of advanced digital systems the option of using a common timing reference across multiple components.

Flagship AKM DAC Architecture

The DAC section combines an AK4191EQ digital processor with an AK4499EX DAC. Separating digital processing from digital-to-analog conversion allows each section to be optimized independently. Compatible inputs support native DSD512 and PCM up to 768 kHz/32-bit.

Eversolo's AuralEngine USB audio processor manages high-resolution audio transmission and processing. The dual-power architecture separates the digital and analog supplies, while a dedicated linear supply for the analog circuits is specified with a noise level as low as 20 µV.

Fully Balanced Analog Preamp

The fully balanced analog preamp provides up to 10 dB of analog gain and uses a precision R-2R resistor network for volume control. Balanced XLR and single-ended RCA inputs allow an additional analog source to be connected, while XLR and RCA preamp outputs can drive a power amplifier or active loudspeakers directly.

A dedicated RCA subwoofer output provides an adjustable low-pass crossover from 40 to 500 Hz, allowing the DMP-A8 Master Gen 2 to manage a 2.1-channel system without an external crossover or surround processor.

Room Correction and DSP

The evotune Pro room-correction system can measure the listening room using a compatible USB measurement microphone or supported mobile-device microphone. It generates FIR correction filters and allows custom target curves and room-correction profiles to be saved.

Manual DSP functions include a 20-band parametric equalizer, imported FIR filters, high-pass and low-pass filtering, loudness compensation, dynamic compression, channel delay, crossover adjustment, and bass management. Global EQ can be applied across supported local, streaming, and digital-input sources.

Streaming, Networking, and Storage

Native music services include TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Deezer, HIGHRESAUDIO, Presto Music, Radio Paradise, and others. TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect Lossless, DLNA, and Bluetooth reception provide additional playback options.

The DMP-A8 Master Gen 2 supports SMB, NFS, and WebDAV network storage. Wired connections include Gigabit Ethernet and an SFP fiber-network port, while wireless connections include dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 through a Qualcomm QCC3095 receiver.

A bottom-access M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 2280 slot supports one optional SSD with a capacity of up to 8 TB. Two USB 3.0 ports accommodate external storage and compatible accessories.

Digital Inputs and Outputs

HDMI ARC/eARC accepts stereo audio from a compatible television or projector. Other digital inputs include USB-B, coaxial, and optical.

Digital outputs include USB Audio, AES/EBU, coaxial, optical, and HDMI I2S. The I2S output offers eight configurable pinout modes for compatibility with different external DACs.
