Low-noise analog connection for turntables and tonearms

The AudioQuest Golden Gate Turntable Cable is designed specifically for the low-level signals produced by phono cartridges, with a separate ground wire and a choice of RCA-to-RCA or JIS-to-RCA terminations. The RCA-to-RCA version connects turntables with RCA outputs to a phonostage or phono input, while the JIS-to-RCA version connects directly to compatible tonearms. (JIS is often called phono DIN or tonearm DIN.)

Golden Gate uses solid Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) conductors rather than stranded conductors. AudioQuest's PSC processing creates an exceptionally smooth conductor surface while eliminating strand interaction, both intended to reduce distortion in the delicate analog signal.

Foamed-Polyethylene insulation surrounds the conductors. Its high air content reduces the amount of energy absorbed and subsequently released by the insulation, helping preserve low-level information and dynamic contrast.

AudioQuest also employs its Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation system to absorb and reflect radio-frequency interference before it reaches the cable's ground layer. Direction-Controlled Conductors are arranged to direct induced RF noise away from sensitive circuitry.

Cold-welded, gold-plated terminations complete the design. AudioQuest's high-pressure cold-welding process avoids solder at the connection between the cable and plug.
