DragonFly Copper carries that legacy forward while preserving the core simplicity that made the series so successful. It plays music files from MP3 to Hi-Res, works with Apple and Windows computers as well as iOS and Android devices, and meets USB Audio Class standards without requiring additional drivers. Output level is controlled by the connected phone, tablet, or computer, while the DragonFly emblem changes color to show playback status and the sampling rate of the file being played.

Compared with previous DragonFly models, Copper delivers 2x greater output power while drawing 25% less current. AudioQuest’s careful selection of a new 32-bit ESS Sabre DAC/headphone amp made it possible to use a slightly smaller processor, reducing power consumption while improving efficiency. DragonFly designer Gordon Rankin then optimized the new parts for lower distortion and stronger overall performance.

The copper-plated case is more than a visual distinction. Informed by the RF-draining barrels used in AudioQuest’s Mythical Creatures interconnects, the high-conductivity copper-plated case helps improve RF-noise drainage.
