The Perfect Table for Kraftwerk's 'Radio-Activity' Reissue!

Dr. Feickert Trio SE

The Trio SE uses the flagship Firebird's three-motor design in a single-tonearm plinth.

A three-motor turntable for well under $10,000?? Dr. Feickert's most tempting reference model is available only at Upscale Audio.

We sell a lot of turntables at Upscale Audio. And because our analog team works so closely with our customers, and stays in touch—often over years—we have a rich vein of information for our brand manufacturers. Our feedback actually drives product design and availability.

The Dr. Feickert Trio SE is one such product. You won't find it on the Dr. Feickert Analogue website because it's an Upscale Audio exclusive, re-forged from a limited edition model that should never have been limited.

But First, the Range

Dr. Feickert Analogue's product range spans $3,995 to $15,495 across just five models: Volare, Volare 25, Woodpecker, Blackbird, and Firebird.

Volare and Woodpecker use one motor. Volare 25 and Blackbird have two motors, and Firebird has a three-motor design. (Multiple motors share the load, which means less vibration. Careful placement results in more even torque on the platter, for greater speed stability.)

The Blackbird and Firebird are also designed to accommodate two tonearms, but it's not just multi-cartridge enthusiasts who chase reference sound. Dr. Feickert realized this and released the limited-edition Venti, which had three motors like the Firebird but with a more compact plinth designed for a single tonearm.

It was a brilliant product, and Kevin and our analog team at the time fell in love with it. None of us could figure out why it was a limited edition, and once it sold out, we kept clamoring for more Venti. When Dr. Feickert demurred, we offered to buy the entire second production run, and hurrah, they agreed to bring it back. But in true Kevin style, he wasn't content with a simple reissue. "Let's make it even better!"

Venti's Back, but Better

So the Venti reincarnated as the Trio SE and is available only at Upscale Audio. It comes with a beautiful walnut finish, and numerous changes under the hood, including improvements to suspension, motor decoupling, bearing bed, and chassis grounding. There are now spike feet, and a larger cutout for the sliding tonearm base. For the current sale price of $7,495, you get Firebird performance just without the provision for a second tonearm.

The Trio SE is the turntable Kevin has in his main rig at home. It's the one many of us at Upscale have our eyes on but there are only so many left. We offer it with a range of tonearm and cartridge bundles, and are happy to work with you on different pairings.
