T+A Elektroakustik PA 3100 HV Integrated Amplifier

A 300 Wpc integrated with RCA and XLR inputs, optional phonostage, and optional PSU upgrade. Massive power delivery and elegant aesthetics.

Packed with power and high technology, and with VU meters on the front, T+A Elektroakustik knows exactly how to appeal to the high-tech, yet nostalgic crowd.

As with other HV amps, the PA 3100 offers a huge amount of power backed by enormous transformers and heatsinks, resulting in an 84 lb package. A PS 3000 HV power supply can be added to further increase the stability and massive transient power ability of this amp. Internally, HV amps run at a much higher voltage than is usual, offering great linearity and superb transient ability.

This is a great amp to open up those lower sensitivity speakers that exhibit amazing control but can sound damped with smaller amps.  A phonostage module is available.

The Heavy HV Circuit

The PA 31000 HV circuit is based on a differential cascode amplifier with individually selected audio J-FET transistors, and stages of completely discrete construction without op-amps. Virtually no overall negative feedback is required due to both the circuit arrangement and the quality of the components employed. The high operating voltage of HV technology is the key to excellent linearity combined with extremely wide dynamic range: signals up to 60 Vss can be processed without distortion.

In the HV series the signal switching and adjusting functions are carried out by encapsulated gas-tight gold-contact relays, which are totally immune to contact problems due to dust and corrosion, and do not suffer from aging effects even after many years of operation. The pre-amplifier even employs bi-stable relays, which require no permanent coil current, and this in turn eliminates any adverse inductive effect on the audio signals.

The direct integration of the relays into the circuit minimizes the signal paths, and connecting cables, as required for conventional volume potentiometers, are not necessary. The volume control is assembled from discrete precision resistors and gold-contact relays. The result is totally precise channel matching, devoid of distortion and hiss.

The PS 3000 HV power supply can be added to take the performance to another level of awe.
