Phasemation EA-320 Phono Amplifier
MM/MC non-feedback phonostage with dual inputs, selectable playback curves, degauss, and shunt-regulated power
The EA-320 is an all-discrete, full-stage symmetrical non-feedback phonostage that draws on Phasemation’s upper-tier designs. A rigid enclosure uses a 10 mm slanted aluminum front panel with 1.2 mm steel base and cover, plus heavy metal feet help suppress vibration and preserve low-level detail.
It is similar to the EA-350, but without balanced inputs.
Its V-I/I-V conversion non-feedback equalizer architecture avoids correction-loop artifacts and is executed with high-precision passive parts in the RIAA network, including 1% metal-film resistors and silvered mica capacitors. The design objective is natural dynamics, tonal shading, and realistic musical expression.
The EA-320 has two RCA stereo inputs with independent MM/MC switching, a non-feedback two-stage CR low-cut filter to control woofer pumping from warped records, three playback curves (RIAA, DECCA Mono, Columbia Mono) and a degauss circuit for MC cartridges with metal cores. The power supply uses Rohm SiC diodes, Nichicon high-grade electrolytics, ELNA SILMIC II decouplers, low-noise Zener diodes, shunt regulators, and an R-core transformer for fast, low-noise performance.
Awards include Analog Grand Prix; MJ Technology of the Year 2021 (Analog Components); and Stereo Best Buy Components No. 1 in Phono Equalizer 100,000–500,000 JPY (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024).
