  • "The Best Amplifier I Have Ever Heard"

Kevin LOVES his "twin towers" Pathos. There is nothing else out there that sounds like this. Learn about the hardware in the Pathos TT Anniversary Amplifier and why it sounds so good.

Pathos TT Anniversary Tube Hybrid Integrated Amplifier

Twin Towers [The earlier TT] is one of the finest amps I've ever heard, regardless of price. And, had I not just sunk my life savings into my listening room, I'd be buying one right now. The Twin Towers is almost too good, too innovative, too classy to be true.

Handmade in Italy. Nearly everything is done in or within 60 km of the Pathos factory in Vincenza. Metalwork, painting, PCB assembly, and even the cutting and processing of beautiful padouk wood for those that want a wood finish. And the sound... many think this is one of the best amps they've ever heard. Period.

TT Anniversary features not found in the TT Remote Reference

  • Transformer-coupled balanced input
  • Sub out (mono RCA)
  • Remote controlled input selector, utilizing Panasonic relays hermetically sealed with thorium contacts

This 92 lb amp ships in a beautiful engraved wooden box. But it's not just about pomp and show. Inside, are top-shelf components, pure silver Pathos signal wiring, and a patented circuit that delivers the most immersive sound experience.

Consider the TT's volume control. It is a based on a ladder of precision resistors and a network of Panasonic relays (hermetically sealed with thorium contacts) to control the steps. As Kevin says, "Who does that?" Very, very few manufacturers, at least at this price point.

InPol (Inseguitore Pompa Lineare - Linear Pump Follower) is a Pathos patented system that allows for much greater output in pure Class A. This circuit design uses a single solid-state component in follower configuration, with a high-current gain and unity voltage gain together.

The tube amplifier amplifies the input signal voltage, and InPol supplies the current to drive the loudspeakers without any further amplification. This means you're listening to tubes but because of a low output impedance and the InPol circuit, the amplifier offers effortless tube glory while achieving a higher damping factor than a tube amplifier. Think of the directness of an SET sound without all the fussiness with speakers.
