Big, bold, and dynamic... If it fails to raise a smile or gain our affection, well then surely we have no heart.


As expected, the combination of large bass driver and generous cabinet delivers an impressively powerful bass performance, but instead of the unwieldy sledgehammer approach we were expecting, we get class-leading agility. There’s lovely texture to lows and some impressive definition when it comes to discriminating between different bass sounds.


They were not only able to separate instruments within a crowded soundfield, but they also was able to place dynamic distance between instruments, groups of instruments, and vocals. The JBL L100 Classics were very non-fatiguing, the upper midrange and treble sounded like music. They are modern speakers with a classic look, and what makes them modern is their high-end sound.


In 1970, JBL released the iconic L100 Loudspeaker. Over the years, the L100 became the bestselling loudspeaker in JBL’s history. In 2018, it brings bring you the JBL L100 Classic, a modern take on a time-honored legend. The Classic features vintage styling, including a retro-inspired design and iconic Quadrex foam grille, along with newly developed acoustic technology and designs for elite performance.

The 1" titanium dome tweeter is mated to a waveguide with an acoustic lens for optimum integration with the 5" pure-pulp cone midrange driver directly below it. Powerful bass is provided by a 12" cast-frame, white pure-pulp cone woofer in a bass-reflex enclosure, tuned via a single front-firing port tube. The high-frequency and mid-frequency L-pad attenuators on the front baffle preserve the classic features of this iconic legend.
