GeerFab Audio D.BOB Digital BreakOut Box
“Why didn't someone do this before? [Many readers] will pounce, knowing that the D.BOB can assure continued access, into the indefinite future, to the SACDs in their collection via the DAC of their choice.”
“If you have a large collection of high-resolution discs, you want to have a future-proof way to continue to enjoy those discs into the foreseeable future. The D.BOB frees you from being tethered to one manufacturer’s, perhaps discontinued, disc player.”
“With the D.BOB, the Qutest renders SACDs with a purity that makes one immediately aware of what even good CDs can lack. I listened to many SACDs with the D.BOB, almost always hearing deeper into even familiar recordings, and with basically zero digital agro.”

Set yourself free of the cheap DAC on your universal disc player! Access digital streams of your SACD/Blu-ray Audio disc collection, and send them to your favorite DAC
You have an SACD or Blu-ray Audio disc collection, and your beloved OPPO just died. Now you find that there are very few hi-fi grade SACD and high-res disc players. Sure, you can buy a basic universal disc player, but the DACs on those are so cheap! Plus, licensing allows DSD or high-res digital to be outputted only via HDMI. (SACD players are not allowed to output DSD via coax or optical, and Blu-ray players are limited to CD quality only via coax or optical.)
How do you connect a universal disc player as a transport to your DAC using the S/PDIF coax input? Why, D.BOB!
Connect the HDMI out of your disc player to the HDMI input on D.BOB. Connect the S/PDIF coax output of D.BOB to your DAC, and you're ready to go with DSD64 over DoP, and up to 192 kHz/24 bit PCM.
Note: Your disc player MUST have an HDMI output to use D.BOB. Your DAC MUST be able to accept DSD over PCM (DoP) to play SACDs.
