Cabasse Minorca MC40 Bookshelf Loudspeaker (pair)

A three-way, coaxial mid-tweeter passive speaker with a 7" woofer

Featuring Cabasse’s SCS (Spatially Coherent Source) technology, the MC40 range is aimed at all music lovers looking for a new high-fidelity experience. Cabasse invites you to discover a new world of precision, realism, and soundstaging. The ultra-compact Minorca MC40, a 3-way bookshelf speaker equipped with the BC10 coaxial midrange tweeter and a Duocell membrane woofer, allows you to reach a level of emotion only previously obtainable from large speakers.

The coaxial midrange-tweeter has been developed with the same innovative solutions used for the midrange-high sound reproduction of THE Sphère flagship system. The BC10 adds depth and soundstage realism to timbral fidelity, without artifice or auditory fatigue. A speaker that is unrivaled at this price level.

The 7" woofer of the Minorca MC40 is fitted with a Duocell cone designed by Cabasse and manufactured with Cabasse robotics. The very light, but rigid and nicely damped material has an exponential profile and variable thickness, to obtain maximum use of the dynamic qualities of long-stroke motors and a high force factor in order to bring all the precision and vivacity necessary for high fidelity, true to live sound.

Crossover Control

The Cabasse development protocol combines numerous measurements in an anechoic room, combining on-axis and 360° results. It guarantees a perfect control of both the directivity index and the total radiated power all along the frequency bandwidth to match the SCS principles. It is a key process, together with listening sessions, in the development of the crossover boards. The slopes can vary from 6 to 24 dB per octave for optimal acoustical phasing, taking into account the influence of the external shape of the enclosure to optimize the qualities of the co-axial drive units.
