Susvara Means Beautiful Sound
The new HiFiMan Susvara Unveiled takes it even further
Go on, strap an orchestra to your head.
Pronounced soo-SVAra in Sanskrit (and not sus-VAARA), "su" is a prefix meaning good or beautiful, and "svara" means musical note or tone. That tells you a lot about the HiFiMan flagship sound, now imagine it being so good that HiFiMan added an 'Unveiled' to it.
The new Susvara Unveiled is a fully open back planar magnetic with big-sky frequency response of 6 Hz to 75 kHz. While that may be up in bat echolocation territory, what it means to you and me with our pitiful human 20 kHz cut-off is that the response of these headphones is incredibly level and accurate through the hearing range. Add to this HiFiMan's acoustically transparent magnet structure and huge dynamics thanks to ultra-thin diaphragms, and you are essentially getting an entire band or orchestra strapped to your head. That makes the $8,000 price a steal, but if you're looking at something a little less expensive, consider the HiFiMan package, the Mini Shangri-La Electrostatic Headphone System.
For $1,100, you get a perfectly matched amp and headphone with the same kind of ultra-thin and light diaphragm, offering a speedy, detailed, hugely engaging sound. Read on to see where you can listen to both these, and many more great personal audio products this time next week!

MEET THE CANJAM ALL-STARSAn Electric Deal on This Heirloom Amp
When you see the photos calling out the tiny scratches on the very backs of these amps, you'll wonder why we're even bothering to rate them as blemished, But the Western Electric 91E is a very special product from an American brand that dates back to the earliest days of transmitted sound. These 300B integrated amps are truly heirloom products and we expect you to expect them to be perfect.
So, we are selling these lightly blemished units for a full $5,000 off the $15,000 black finish, and $6,000 off the $16,000 nickel finish. The photos on each listing show the blemishes.
The WE 91E offers single-ended performance that uses technology to nearly double the output power of the 300B tube. WE's patented Steered Current Source Technology uses a parallel feed topology that allows the tube to handle half of the power dissipation, allowing for an output of 20 W per channel. Full autobias makes it easy to own these classic tubes, and a high-quality resistor ladder handles attenuation.
