The star of the show will be the Fyne Audio F1-12S, flagship of the Scottish brand's range.
Each component highlights some of audio's best ideas
Our next in-store event, Find Your Fyne on October 4, features a $200,000 gentle giant of a main demo system. It will show off the flagship Fyne Audio loudspeaker, the mighty-yet-elegant F1-12S, $52,500/pr. The digital source comprises two new heavyweights, the $38,500 Aurender N50 Music Server/Streamer and the $34,000 Berkeley Audio Design Alpha Reference DAC Series 3P. Amplification will be handled by the $55,000 Pathos InPol Legacy.
These components represent some of the best, most fleshed-out ideas in high-end audio today. The Aurender and Berkeley Audio front end exemplify the most current thinking in digital audio: That we can push jitter reduction and noise reduction nearly beyond measurable limits, and still hear improvements in coherence and inner detail. The N50, for example, is a three-box unit, with server, streamer, and power supply completely isolated from each other. The Alpha Reference 3P uses a new proprietary RF waveguide isolation, as well as a special focus on time-domain coherence.
Then that 308 lb. Pathos amp demonstrates what happens when you take class-A design to a few-holds-barred limit. With 100 W of class-A power on tap, the InPol Legacy is a lesson in effortlessness.
Finally, with the Fyne, you hear the logical conclusion of point-source design, using what is effectively a single driver housed in one of the most beautiful cabinets on our showroom floor.
So with an ultra-precise source, going into a dual-mono powerhouse, and then excellent phase coherence at the transducer, you'll experience startling realism at low and high volumes. You'll hear lingering decay trails, and also "hear" rooms and studios and concert spaces. Plus, you'll get to talk about it all over a beverage and plate of food with like-minded people in a warm, welcoming environment.
