Ken Davis, our sales manager, is excited about the possibilities opened up by the Eversolo Play.

Get your patio and pool rocking before that big barbecue.

When we interviewed Joe Harley the Tone Poet last year, he stressed that vinyl playback today is better than it ever has been. Let's think about that for a second: if one of our oldest music reproduction technologies is still improving, imagine what's happening in the shiny world of digital.

The notion that analog is inherently better than digital (a complex issue worthy of long discussion) dates back to the 1980s when CD first came out and people found that "perfect sound forever" was simply not true. It's been 43 years since those early CD players, and we've come a long, long way, especially in our understanding of clocking, jitter reduction, and digital filters. This means better sound at ever lower price points. And for those who want it, there are high-resolution touchscreens, EQ and room correction, slick control apps, and lots of fun extra features available, from FM tuners to VU meters.

The new Eversolo Play represents everything that's great about current digital audio, especially at an incredible $699. Ken Davis, our sales manager, is truly excited about this just-add-speakers product, so we got him into the studio to make a video about it. We love how he breaks down exactly who this player is for, and it might just be you.

As we get into summer fun, there's no better time to replace that aging all-house system you inherited from the previous owner, and start adding zones whose sound quality you can be proud of. You might think that a patio system during a July 4 barbecue doesn't have to sound great, but surely it doesn't have to sound bad, as so many of these older systems do.

Even when it's background music, high-fidelity sound elevates the experience. You squeeze limes fresh for your margaritas, you make your own marinades, and you're so careful about the meat you use, and yet your house sound (outside of your main rig) is the equivalent of the cheap ready-to-drink mix or processed bottled marinade or USDA Standard gristle. Fix that before this Fourth of July!
