Upscale Audio's Chris Landfield knew he had to own a pair of Khorns as soon as he heard them in a demo room.
No large speaker can disappear like a Khorn.
When Upscale salesperson Richard O'Neill sold his Klipsch Klipschorn, AKA Khorns, AKA Corner Horns, his wife got very angry.
"Crazy that they were the only speakers she really liked the look of," says Rich.
Why crazy? Because Klipschorns are huge. We're talking about a 15-inch horn-loaded woofer in there, and speakers this large rarely pass the non-audiophile-significant-other test.
Khorns are different though. It's not just that they can sit in a corner, they are shaped and designed to occupy this magical space, and once they're locked in, it's astonishing how they completely disappear into the room.
The only reason Rich sold them was that his room was too small for the speaker, and he struggled to get a seal with the corner. Assuming you have a medium to large room, and two free right-angled corners, you essentially have two bass reinforcement spaces going unused. With their triangular shape and a bass curve that uses the boost from creating a seal with a room corner, the Klipschorns are the only way to smuggle in a pair of 4-foot by 2.5-foot cabinets and not lose even a square inch of usable room area.

The wood veneers on all Klipsch's are truly stunning; here we see the walnut finish.
Last Chance for OG Horn
As we recently announced, Klipsch has come out with a new version of the Khorn. The AK7 uses the MUMPS horn design, has a new crossover, and can be used with a matching active DSP crossover.Â
An all-new model means that we can sell the last of our OG Horns, as we'll call them, at a very special price; so special that we can't mention it here. You will have to call in and talk to one of our salespeople for that.
Why buy an OG Horn when there's a new one out? Well, first of all, special price. Second, this is classic Americana. The Klipsch sound is dynamic, energetic, with amazing imaging. OG Horns have that magic ability of horn-loaded speakers to make every molecule of air sing. Also, they are 105 dB sensitive, which means you can, as Kevin Deal often puts it, "Drive them with a Walkman".
Rich says of his dearly missed OG Horns, "I love the way they sound so alive. Even at very low volume, they just breathe. Working at home with music always going, makes me really appreciate this aspect of high-efficiency speakers."
We have a couple of pairs of the Klipsch Klipschorn AK6 loudspeaker in each finish, that's Black Ash, Walnut, and Cherry. And there are just two pairs of the coveted Klipsch Klipschorn AK6 75th Anniversary loudspeaker. Klipsch made just 75 pairs of this special teak finish OG Horn, with lambswool grilles, high-end badging, and a bunch of commemorative extras, including a numbered plaque, book, poster, earphones, leather coasters, and more.
