Good SQ AND UX: Arcam with Free Roon

Arcam and Roon

Arcam's Radia streaming products come with two and three year Roon subscriptions.

Arcam ensures that good SQ and a good UX are not mutually exclusive. Plus, Roon with free nugs (which isn't what it sounds like)

For a limited time, select ARCAM Radia series purchases include a complimentary Roon subscription—three years with the SA35 or SA45 integrated amplifier, or two years with the ST25 or ST5 streamer.

Is Roon Still Relevant?

Yes! Even today, in the days of Qobuz and Tidal Connect, Roon offers the most intuitive, most comprehensive way to control all your digital music sources, whether Qobuz, Tidal, NAS drive, or internet radio. Even the slickest manufacturer apps look rough around the edges next to Roon (and some still look like garage code from the late 1990s).

The catch is that Roon requires separate hardware to run Roon Core, but with the Roon's Nucleus One now an extremely affordable $540, it no longer makes sense to buy an Intel NUC and download ROCK yourself. Just get the dedicated, ready-to-use appliance.

An added recent bonus is that Roon now has integration with nugs, and also offers a 60-day free trial of the nugs hi-res account. Nugs is a paid live music streaming service with over 30,000 professionally recorded concerts. Says Roon of the nugs content: "With new exclusive and archival shows added daily—from acts like Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, and Pearl Jam to Billy Strings, Goose, Dead & Company, and hundreds more artists—you'll never miss another show."

Just Add Speakers

The Arcam SA35 ($3,300) and SA45 ($5,500) are 120 W and 180 W streaming amps, respectively, with high-res screens, Dirac room correction, and extremely sophisticated DACs. Once your Roon Nucleus (or Intel NUC with ROCK) is running on your network, these amps can be added as Roon endpoints, giving you seamless control of all your music.

Both products use Arcam's Class-G amplification, an implementation that uses a smaller Class-A power supply and "fades in" a second booster power supply as needed. (Unlike Class-AB, which revs up the same power supply when the music gets demanding.) The result is the directness of Class-A without the heat, and the efficiency of Class-AB without the crossover distortion.)

For a limited time, both amps come with a three-year Roon subscription.

The Arcam ST35 is a "just add speakers" product, now with free Roon for three years.

For the Separates System

The Arcam ST5 ($880, sale $699) and ST25 ($1,650) are streaming DACs for those who want to have a separate amplifier. Both offer digital outputs as well as analog, so they can be used as streamers when you upgrade to a separate DAC. Should you choose Arcam amps, each product works with matched models, with a comms link for input and volume control.

For a limited time, both streaming DACs come with a two-year Roon subscription.

Arcam ST5 lifestyle shot

The Arcam ST5 streaming DAC works with any amp, or pairs seamlessly with the A5+ or A15+ integrated amps.
