Siemens 8223/E288CC - I have just found a nice stash of these. They may be branded a few different brands, but they're all Siemens. This is a very smooth sounding 6922 variant that folks seem to like. Problem is... over 50% of these are so microphonic they are not usable even as Driver Grade. We don't sell you those, so don’t bust my nuts on my price.
Note: This tube is about 3/8 to 1/2 inch taller than a typical 6922, and in some gear will be too tall. Please make sure you have enough clearance in your equipment before purchasing.
If you're looking for this tube in Gold or Platinum Grade for use in a preamp or phonostage, please call to confirm compatibility. Some preamps can be a little hard on this tube, and we want to be up-front with you.
If used in a preamp or phonostage, you may hear a slight "ting!" through your speakers when you move switches, or tap on the unit. This is normal.
Platinum grade - The best of the best. Lowest noise and microphony with the tightest triode balance we have available. This is typically 10% or tighter, but may be higher depending on available stock.
Gold grade - Low noise and microphonics with a triode balance typically between 15% and 20%, but may be higher depending on available stock.
Driver/Buffer grade - Lowest noise but not the lowest in microphony. Triode balance will be similar to Gold grade.
This grade is only suitable for use in the driver stage of an amplifier, or the output/buffer stage of a DAC or CD Player.
If you have a preamp or phonostage, you need at least Gold grade.
