Mazda 6CG7/6FQ7 - These are the super cool made in Great Britain by Brimar. Extremely hard to find. This is the ultimate in a 6CG7/6FQ7, and we found a nice stash of them. They will be branded as Brimar, Mazda, or Thorn EMI. We also have some that were government use in England, and they have no marking except 6CG7 or 6FQ7. Note: 6CG7 and 6FQ7 are 100% the same. These tubes are marked with one or the other, or even both.
Expect that beautiful liquid midrange that Brimar was famous for. They seem to last almost forever. I have yet to see a customer replace them. There is also a French made Mazda. I don't know about them. I've always sought these out.
These tubes cost a little more than hamburger stuff, but remember this: They never seem to wear out. I’ve never had a customer buy a set and then replace them. What we have here is Platinum Grade, meaning a near-perfect internal balance, and the absolute lowest noise and microphony.
We also decided to do something super special. We are selecting out inventory made specifically for Stax headphone amps. Since we recently became a Stax dealer we felt we had to help customers get the best they can from some of the best headphones in the world. First we will take very tippy-top of the Platinum grade tubes, then they will be tested for perfect DC balance, and graded in-circuit in a STAX SRM-007tII. You will be getting not only the best tubes possible for you unit, but tubes that will last.
Special Stax test $85.
